It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Margaret Ann Yeske. Marg leaves behind her son Leigh (Leo) of North Bay, Brother David (Margo), Nephew Mathew (Carrie), Niece Leah Jones (Adam) and great nephews and niece Lachlan, Holden and Rowan of Calgary, Alberta.
Marg was predeceased by her father Gordon Yeske (2011) and Mother Marion Yeske (2023).
Marg was born in Portage La Prairie Manitoba In 1962 but lived the majority of her adult life in North Bay Ontario. Marg loved to garden, and was passionate about the planet. She was always up for a hot cup of coffee with a neighbor or friend. Marg was very proud of her indigenous heritage and lived her life committed to practicing smudging and attended ceremonies and powwow when she could.
Marg fought her fair share of battles both physical and mental. She was a proud recovering addict with over 30 years of sobriety. She was known to occasionally attend sober dances or celebrations with those likeminded and living in sobriety.
Marg will be remembered as being kind and unique. Her laugh is one we will miss. We will carry her in our hearts and find peace knowing that she is no longer in pain.
At this time, no formal funeral service is planned. We invite those who knew her to keep her memory alive by doing a simple act of kindness whatever that may be.
In lieu of flowers; donations can be made in Marg’s name to the North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre.
