YEOMANS, James (Jimmy) 1922-2004

Peacefully at North Bay General Hospital on Monday, January 12, 2004, in his 82nd year. Survived by his devoted wife, Florence Carle. Loving father of Linda Faulkner (Norm) of North Bay, James (Jim) Yeomans Jr. (Jeanette) of Sudbury, Donald Yeomans (Cecile) of Corbeil, Tim Yeomans (Betty-Ann), Tammy Yeomans (Dempsey), and Kelly Yeomans of North Bay. Proud Grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Andrew and Marie Yeomans and his sister Arvella Anderson (Bob). Beloved brother of Gladys Roy (Jerry), Olive Carle, Lois Nolan (Frank), all of North Bay, Audrey Watt of South Porcupine and Grant Yeomans of Timmins. Jimmy was a WWII Veteran and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23 of North Bay. He was a retired employee of the City of North Bay after 37 years of service. Born in Cache Bay, Jim’s father taught him to play the fiddle, which developed his passion for music. Although he played many instruments, he is best known for his self-taught style on the stand up Bass. He entertained in North Bay for 35 years. Visitation at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service to be held Thursday at Hillside Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of Jim’s life at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23 after the service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Lund Association would be gratefully appreciated.
