VON HOLTZENDORFF, Ursula Emma

We are sad to share the loss of our dear mother, Ursula Emma von Holtzendorff, nee Oesterle.  Born in a small town in southern Germany, February 14th 1933 she immigrated to Canada in 1953 with her sister Sieglinde.  During her life she had many varied and challenging jobs, including nursing care, teaching, and bookkeeping finally ending her working life at the North Bay courthouse.  Ursula was an active member of the local writer’s club, Germania club, Trinity choir and Woman’s group. She completed her B.A.  (Magna Cum Laude) from Laurentian University, and never lost her passion for learning. Ultimately, however, her true devotion was to family--from husband and sisters, to children, grand children and great-grandchildren.  She passed peacefully Saturday August 20 surrounded by family. Ursula you were loved and will be missed. Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd, on Sunday August 28th from 2 until 4 pm.
