WILLIAMS, William Edward

Died at his home, North Bay on Thursday March 8, 2007 in his 79th year. Bill was born in Mountain Ash, Wales and came to Canada in 1956. H e was married to Kathleen May Smith and became a naturalized Canadian citizen. He leaves two sons Gareth Jeffrey (Emma) and Terrence William George, grandson T.J. Williams and granddaughters Abigail Kate Williams and Katie Charlotte Williams.

Bill worked at the Ministry of Transportation as a design draftsman and has been retired for several years. He leaves a sister Anne Benfield of London, England a niece Helen Ball, and her two children Matthew and Rachel, and a nephew Ian Benfield. As well as many other nieces and nephews he also leaves brothers in law Philip J. Smith of Sudbury and Charles F. Smith of Toronto, sisters in laws Mabel Mitchell (Les), Mabel Smith (Harold) and Thelma Hahn (Chester).

Bill served in the RAF from 1947 to 1953, part of which time was in Egypt.

Friends called at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Monday afternoon from 1:00 pm until time for services in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Cremation to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium. Interment of ashes in Union Cemetery.
