WILLIAMS, Denis Victor

With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Denis Victor Williams on Friday, July 20, 2007 at the age of 62 years. Denis was born to George and Marjorie Williams on May 5, 1945 in Wolverhampton , England. He immigrated to Canada in 1947 and settled in Katrime, MB. At the age of 18, he joined the military where he received his training as an electronic technician. Denis left the military and was employed in Nunavut to work on the DEW line for approximately 25 years then transferred to North Bay, Ontario for the remainder of his career. Upon his retirement, he returned to Manitoba and settled in Portage la Prairie. Denis had a great love of vehicles, new and old. He also always had the most up to date electronics equipment and loved tinkering around with them. Denis loved all animals and had a special place in his heart for his cats. Denis enjoyed cooking and was always watching cooking shows and looking up new recipes. He was known for whipping up special dishes for the boys up North and cooking fancy meals for his family on “Poker Party” nights when he was on holidays. Predeceased by his Parents, and his brother Roger, he is lovingly remembered by his nephews Keith (Judy) Williams, Trevor (Ethelynn) Williams, Derek Slate; his nieces Glynnis (Ray) Bruce, Ruth Slate and numerous great nieces and nephews.



Cremation has occurred and a family celebration will be held at a later date to celebrate his life. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in 'Denis' memory to a charity of their choice. A tree will be planted and cared for in memory of Denis by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. 204-857-4021.
