Betty Weaver died feistily, following a period of declining health, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. The family thanks the staff of Unit A3 NBRHC for their kindness and care. Betty was in her 98th year. Born in North Bay on November 6, 1924, to Alfred and Delia (Desjardins) Hartrick and sister to Richard (1918-2003), she spent her entire life in North Bay. Betty was predeceased by her husband Douglas (1923-1996). She was the beloved mother of Susan (Peter) of North Bay and Donald (Cheryl) of Toronto; grandmother to Caitlin (Jamie) Sikora of Blacksburg VA, Devon (Shanon) Cooke of North Bay, Colin (Tessa) Weaver of Halifax, and Ian Weaver of New Haven CT; and great-grandmother to Heidi Weaver of Halifax. Betty was a dedicated homemaker and passionate provider for her cats, birds and all creatures great and small. At Betty’s request, there will be no visitation. Interment will be at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be sent to the North Bay Humane Society. Arrangements entrusted to the Martyn Funeral Home.
