WATSON, Bruce

The Watson family sadly announce that Bruce died suddenly in Dade City, Florida on Saturday March 3rd, 2012 at the young age of 71 years. Bruce was the wonderful husband of Bernie Watson and the proud and loving father of Beverley (Jeff) serving with the Canadian military in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Blayne (Michele) of North Bay. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Lanndis, Nicholas, Blake, and Ryan. Survived by his brother Vernon (Shirley) and his sisters Betty(Don Prail), Helen (Larry Jeanneault) and Norma (Bob O'Hare). He was predeceased by his father Ivan in 2000, and his mother Doris in 2011, and brother Myles in 1995. Bruce was employed at Ontario Northland for 37 years retiring as the Health and Safety Officer. He loved his 19 years of Florida winter living as a Snowbird with Bernie. He is a past master of the North Bay Masonic Lodge # 617 A.F. & A.M. "Whipper" was a member of the Rorab Shrine Club Klown Unit.
He was also a member of the North Bay Cruisers Car Club and a volunteer at the Heritage Railway & Carousel. Bruce was a long-time resident of Tower Drive enjoying all the cherished activities with his friends and neighbours.
Loyalty to his family and friends was extremely important to him and we will remember Bruce as a true "giver" of his time and skill to help anyone. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Masonic service to be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in Omond Memorial United Church at 1:30pm on Sunday March 11th, 2012.
Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery will follow in the Spring. If desired, donations to the Shriner's Children's Hospital will be gratefully acknowledged as an expression of sympathy as this was a fond charity for Bruce.
