WAQUÉ, Maria J.J. (nee Klaassen)

June 20th, 1913 - May 12th, 2007. We are sad to announce the passing of our mother Rie on Saturday afternoon at the Columbia Forrest Nursing Home in Waterloo, Ontario. She married our father Paulus Waqué in Holland in 1938 and they moved to Curaçao, the Dutch West Indies where they raised our family. Beloved wife of Paulus Waqué (deceased) and long time companion of Jim Hallett (deceased). Mother of Paul (Sandra), Aleida Macdonald and Barbara (Paul Schultz). Oma to Paul Jr. (Lisa), David (Anne), Tom (Megan), Max Yott (Cindy), Yolanda (Frank Van Keeken) and Austin Macdonald, great-grandchildren Lane and Lily, Macie and Hazel, Liam and Oliver, Cousins and family in Canada, Holland and Germany, we will all continue to love mom for years to come. Mom will also be remembered by her step- grandchildren Carrie and Christopher Schultz and Cloey and Sabastian Van Keeken. As children during our teens, Mom frequently suggested we immigrate to Canada “The Land of promise“. Our family and children will remain grateful for her strong encouragement and love. Special thanks to Barbara and David during her final hours. Cremation has taken place.



A service in her memory will be held at HENRY WALSER FUNERAL HOME, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, Ontario, 519- 749-8467 on Friday May 18th, 2007 at 1:00 PM. No flowers by request. Donations to Oma's memory may be made to Toronto Sick Children's Hospital or any children related charity of choice.
