It is with unimaginable sorrow that we announce the passing of Greg Walker. Greg passed peacefully and on his own terms in the comfort of his home at the age of 59.

Greg was born in Baden-Baden, Germany to parents Adele (nee Charette) and Albert Walker on August 19th 1964.

Greg is survived by and will be immeasurably missed by his girls – his loving wife of 35 years, Kimberly Walker (nee McShane), and his two loving daughters Hailey Walker (Herminio) and Madison Thompson (Matt). Greg is also survived by and will be greatly missed by his loving grandson and best buddy Walker Thompson.

Greg will be greatly missed by his loving siblings Lori Morel and Steve Walker (Pauline). Greg will also be missed by his brother-and-sister-in-laws, Mark (Bernice), Mike (Charlotte) and Chris (Kim) McShane. Greg will be forever remembered by his many nieces and nephews as their hilarious Uncle Sarcasm.

More than anything Greg loved being surrounded by his family. Greg had an impeccable sense of humour that served as a guiding light for his entire family. Greg was an avid reader and writer with a fierce love of the written word. He graduated with a degree in Print Journalism from Canadore College and his ability to write and tell stories captivated his entire family and will be forever remembered.

Greg fought Multiple Sclerosis with fierce determination and independence for over thirty years. Greg and his family are forever grateful to the many people who supported and cared for him over the years.

The family would especially like to thank the countless incredibly PSWs from PHARA’s Outreach Support Program and Attendant Care Housing, who Greg often referred to as his guardian angels. The family would also like to thank the many medical professionals that were involved in Greg’s care over the years including: Dr. Rotondo and Jan, Dr. Salako, Dr. McKenna, Mike Messenger and the entire VON nursing team, and especially Katie Cipparrone, who was not only Greg’s personal nurse but also his family.

A visitation will be held at Martyn Funeral Home from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Sunday February 18th, followed by a celebration of life in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00pm. A short reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, anyone interested in commemorating Greg’s life is invited to make a donation in Greg’s name to The Multiple Sclerosis Society or a charity of your choice.

Greg left an immeasurable impact on everyone he met, and he will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered forever. As Greg always said, “see you in the funny papers”.
