Loving brother to Nels, Fred (Carol), Paul (Mary), Tom (Sherry),  Joe (Nancy).  Brother-in-law to Pete, Joan, MB, Garry (Linda), Rose, Michael (Janet), Donna (Steve), Dennis (Kelly).

Garfield was born July 9th, 1948 in Englehart, ON. He had grown up in a Christian home and his strong religious beliefs carried him through his life. He met his sweetheart in high school and they were married on Jan 18, 1969. He worked on the Ontario Northland Railway before joining the Ontario Provincial Police in 1971. He was stationed to Sudbury, Gore Bay and Dowling detachments through his career. He was an active member (usher, deacon and board member, etc.) in the churches he attended.  His smile, firm hand shake and sense of humour greeted his church family every Sunday. In his retirement he worked for years as a school bus driver and then for Hillside Funeral home in North Bay, ON.

Garfield will be remembered by his family and friends with fond memories of his sense of humour and loving nature.

A Celebration of Life to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the First Baptist Church of North Bay or a charity of your choice in memory of Garfield will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.

Arrangements entrusted to Hillside Funeral Services
