June 21, 1936 – March 26, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Rocco Venditti announce his passing at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Tuesday March 26th, 2024, at the age of 87.

Rocco was the cherished husband of 54 years to Angelina Venditti (née Castrilli) . He was adored by his children Linda Degagne and Tony Venditti, as well as his son-in-law Darren Degagne and daughter-in-law Sylvie Venditti. Rocco had a special bond with his grandsons Eric and Ryan Venditti as well as his granddaughters Emily and Erika. Rocco was born in Carpinone, Italy to Giovanni and Gelsomina Venditti. He was the youngest of four siblings. He is predeceased by his brother Agostino (Teresa) and survived by his sister Maria (Valentino, Predeceased) and brother Felice (Emma, predeceased).

Upon immigrating to North America, Rocco spent some time in the United States, where he learned to become a barber in New York City. He married Angelina in North Bay and had a long career at St. Joseph’s Hospital where he made so many friends. Rocco was fortunate to have a long retirement, and it was these years that he spent much time with his greatest love, his family.

Rocco adored his family, and it was this time spent when he was at his best. He was the life of the party, and his smile was infectious. Rocco and Angelina enjoyed 12 years of living at Marina Point Retirement Village. He made many friends throughout this community. We would like to thank all of the medical professionals at the NBRHC and Dr. Reitzel for their terrific care.

We would especially like to thank Leigh-Anne Craig, with whom Rocco developed a special friendship. We truly believe that Leigh-Anne’s care gave him comfort and extended life through his last few years of failing health.

A visitation for Rocco will be held on Monday April 1, 2024, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8pm at the Martyn Funeral Home. A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday April 2, 2024, at Saint Peter the Apostle Church at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Condolences may be offered online at www.martynfh.com.
