Helen Marie Twiddy (nee Delaney) (1918-2006) passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family, Friday, March 24, 2006.



After relocating to North Bay from Huntsville in 1997, she continued her unrelenting commitment to and passion for volunteerism. Helen was recognized across the province for her many contributions. Voluteer Coordinator Chelsea Gardens, London, Ontario. Founder Volunteer Association, Parkhill Nursing Home, Parkhill, Ontario. Founder, Past President and Volunteer Coordinator Fairvern Nursing Home, Huntsville, Ontario. President and Founder of the Ontario Nursing Home Volunteer Association. Ontario Mental Health Board (member) Toronto. Board Member and President London Middlesex Mental Health Board. Regional Representative and Provincial Director of the Ontario Volunteer Hospital Association. President St. Joseph's Hospital Volunteer Association, London, Ontario. In 1992 she was recognized for her Volunteer Achievement by the Ministry of Community and Social Services. Up until the time of her death she was an active volunteer at the North Bay General Hospital.



Helen was the beloved wife of “Bert” Twiddy who predeceased her in 2003. Mother of Donna Smeeton, Toronto, Marlyn Young (Doug) Colorado, Karen Rotondo (Terry) North Bay. Helen will long be remembered by her 8 grandchildren Paul, Sharon, Ann, Susan, Scott (previously deceased,) Stephen, Cameron, Laura and Sarah. And her 11 great grandchildren.



Helen's endless energy and infectious smile will be remembered and sorely missed by so many. Memorial mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church Tuesday at 11:15 A.M.
