He was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren who will all miss him greatly.   He is also survived by his siblings Jack (Monica) of North Bay, Betty Nova (Ray) and Arlene Fedy (Jim,) both of Kitchener, and Raymond (Kathy) of Sturgeon Falls. Predeceased by his brother Michael and sisters Theresa Houston, Mary Sullivan and Patricia Kenyon. Born and raised in North Bay Bill began his newspaper career with the Nugget as a delivery boy, with over a hundred customers. He started full time with the paper at the age of 18 and retired 40 years later as the Circulation Director.  A gifted and talented woodworker, he was an avid gardener and for many years was a beekeeper at his Rutherglen property.  A devout Catholic he has been a life long parishioner of The Pro Cathedral of the Assumption.  Friends may call at Martyn Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon and evening 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Pro Cathedral at 10:00am on Monday November 19th.  Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Bill’s family give a special thank you to Dr Carter and the wonderful  doctors and nurses in the CCU at  North Bay Regional Health Centre.    If desired donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
