STRONACH, George Arthur

Passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Sunday, April 6th, 2014. George was the beloved husband of Kathleen Patricia “Pat” (nee Bennett), he was 72 years old. Loving father and grandfather of Michael and his wife Sheryl (Jenkins) and their children Stefania & Evan of North Bay, Kathy Watmore and her husband Dino Cardelli and their children Steven, Megan (Trevor), Kally (Sam) of North Bay and Christine Hunter and her husband Rob and their children Haley and Mason all of Alberta. Dear brother of Nan Morandin (Eddie Predeceased) of Kitchener and Barra Dobson (Bob) of Scarborough. George was predeceased by his parents George and Margaret Stronach and by his brother Donald.  He worked for over 40 years as a Manufacturer’s Representative first in the food industry and later for furniture companies. George loved to spend time on the Golf Course, for many years at the North Bay Country Club and more recently at Osprey Links. George had a tremendous passion for the water. He spent 45 years on Lake Nipissing swimming, fishing, boating and camping at the Islands or down the French River enjoying every minute.  In the winter he could be found at the Granite Club, enjoying the curling and the fellowship or snowmobiling on the local trails. All are welcome to a Farewell Party to celebrate his life being held at the New Clubhouse at Osprey Links Golf Club (207 Osprey Crescent, Callander) on Saturday, April 12th, from 1-4:00 PM.
