Passed away at Cassellholme Home for the Aged, Wednesday June 8, 2005 at the age of 88 years. Rudy was the beloved husband of the late Fran Steski and loved father of Wayne (Jane) of Granville, Ohio and Elaine Panazzolo (Albert) of Ottawa. He will be lovingly remembered by four grandchildren, John, Peter and Jeffrey Steski and Jennifer Panazzolo. He will be dearly remembered by three sisters, Minnie Steski, Helen Oates and Rose Steski and a brother Louis Steski. Predeceased by his parents and three brothers Victor, Frank and Gerald. He was previously employed with the Ontario Government in the Public Works Department. Rudy was an avid curler and was the first North Bay resident to represent the Northern Ontario Brier as skip in 1955; he won the Canadian Legion Curling championship in 1968 and also participated in other Canadian Legion championships as well as the Canadian Senior Curling championship. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23 and The North Bay Granite Club. Rudy loved golfing and had two holes-in-one; he also enjoyed the outdoors, the cottage and fishing. Family and friends may pay their respects at the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME Chapel, Saturday from 10 to 11:15 a.m. A Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23 and memorial service will be held at that time.
