Bernard “Bernie/Boze/Steve” Stephens died peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at North Bay Regional Health Centre. He was in his 87th year. Boze was the beloved husband of Gloria (nee Hummel) of Loring; father of Pat Stephens of North Bay and Cathy Brooks (Lyall) of Loring; and grandfather of Mitchell Brooks of Powassan and Kaitlyn Brooks (D.J. Alexander) of Manitouwadge. He was the dear brother of Elizabeth “Betty” Stephan of North Bay, Bernice Brooks of Arnstein and Gertrude Ultscher of Pickering. Boze was predeceased by his sisters Ruth Muncaster, Mary Pratt-Labbe and Shirley-Ann Berger. Uncle Boze will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He was formerly a long time resident of Sault Ste. Marie and a 27 year employee of Algoma Steel (retired 1988). The Stephens family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 7 to 9 pm with a Legion Tribute at 6:45 pm and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 am. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11 am. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Trout Creek.
