Passed away peacefully at Cassellholme, Home for the Aged on Sunday September 17, 2017 at the age of 92 years. He was predeceased by his wife Vivienne (2013) and sister-in-law Claudette McArdle. Dear father of Perry Scott and his wife Lynn (Calgary); Gillian Scott Picard and her husband Marc (Callander). Proud Grandpa to Graeme Scott. Survived by his sister Pauline Gordon (late Hugh) and nephew David Gordon of Hamilton, sister-in-law Virginia Onley (late George) and brother-in-law Johnny Mallette (Helen) of Tilden Lake.
Richard trained as a pilot in World War II prior to returning to North Bay where he was the long time owner of Railton’s Camera Shop. Over the years he photographed thousands of portraits, weddings and special events. In 2013 he was honoured by the Help Portrait Program. In retirement, he was a long time member of the North Bay Wood Carvers Club and was instrumental in completing carousel horses that were carved locally. A memorial visitation will be held at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd., on Thursday September 21st , 2017 from 6 pm until 8 pm. Donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice in memory of Dick will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
