Marjorie Smith died peacefully at Eastholme Home for the Aged on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. She was in her 88th year. Marjorie (nee Lovell) was predeceased by her husband James Thomas “Jim” Smith (1929-2003) and is survived by her daughters Carol Modra (Joe) of Tionesta, Pennsylvania and Karen Smith of Nipissing; Her three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Marjorie was also predeceased by her brother, the late Gerald Lovell (wife Sherry of Ottawa). The Smith family will receive visitors on Saturday, February 17, 2012 from 1 to 2 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm, all at the at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan. Cremation will be followed by spring interment of ashes at Nipissing Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
