1953-2023
Quietly with his life-long friend, Gary Bruneau, by his side, Blake passed away at Nipissing Serenity Hospice on Saturday April 8th, 2023 at the age of 70.
Blake is survived by sons Christopher (Cheri) and Curtis (Natasha), grandson Jordan, great grandson Orion, Brother Karl (Charlene) and former wife Donna.
Predeceased by mother Daisy Fraser and step-father Stan Fraser, siblings Ione Barre, Gilman Smith, Dwyla Ward, Linda Thompson (Jim) and Dwight Smith.
Blake was an active member of Legion Branch 23 and league member at Partners Billiards. He thoroughly enjoyed several years touring on his much-cherished motorcycle. He was chairman of the North Bay Winter Carnival for years and President of the North Bay Seniors fastball league, playing for many years for the Silver Foxes. Blake enjoyed many years of camping and fishing with family and he also loved golfing and darts. Many board games were played both at home and with friends. He will always be remembered on Christmas Eve by his ingenious inventions at lighting up his plate of Chinese food in the candlelight. And then there was always the campfire conversations about “wood doesn’t burn”.
