Well-known local musician Jim Simis died peacefully at North Bay General Hospital on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 after a brief illness. He was in his 51st year. Jim was the loving father of Shawn Simis (Cindy) and Adrienne Prescott-Simis, all of North Bay. He is survived by brothers Bill of Wasaga Beach, John of Nipissing, Mike of Nipissing and Tim of Parry Sound. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Roseann Simis. Immediate cremation will be followed by a musical memorial afternoon on Sunday, November 20th at 2 p.m. in the Commanda Hall. A brief ritual will be conducted at 2 p.m. and everyone is invited to bring musical instruments, favourite memories, photos, beverages and a pot-luck item to the Commanda Hall.
