Karen Marie Evans Shebeck born August 3rd, 1973, surrounded by her loving family, passed away at Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray, AB on Sunday November 29th 2015. Karen was the loving and devoted wife to Kent Shebeck and their daughter Alexandra Marie Shebeck all from Fort McMurray, AB. Beloved daughter of Therese Evans of North Bay, ON. Predeceased by her father Gregory Evans (1993). Beloved sister to Martin Evans (Emily) of England, UK. Rachel Hamilton (Jason) of Trout Creek, ON. Daughter in law to Gerald & Denise Shebeck of Rocky Mountain House, AB. Special Aunty to Gregory, Andrew, Keira, Aiden and Kaylee. Niece of Michael Evans of Kingston, ON. Suzanne Dennis (Tony) of Oakville, ON. MaryLou Evans of Timmins, ON Theresa Evans of Hamilton, ON. Philip O’Riada (Jennifer) of Ireland. Karen faced her four year battle with cancer much like she lived her life. With grace, dignity, positivity and a determination to make the absolute best of everyday she was given. She grew up in North Bay, Ontario until fate had her meet Kent where they relocated to Fort McMurray, Alberta and started a family with the arrival of Alexandra who she endlessly loved. An avid photographer, painter and writer she leaves with us breathtaking moments from vacations with family that will be a reminder of just how well she saw the world despite the challenges and adversity she carried each day. Always had a soft spot for animals especially her feisty little Peanut. Her warm heart, mischievous smile, and bigger than life laugh, touched the paths of so many people. The pain we face moving forward will be met with a smile knowing she gave life all she had and made us all better for knowing her.
Karen will be laid to rest in North Bay, ON at Holy Cross Cemetery. A very special thank you to the hospital staff that showed professionalism, kindness, and empathy towards Karen in her final stages of life.
