1922 - 2007 - Suddenly at The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre, Ottawa, on Friday, January 5th 2007, in his 85th year. Predeceased by his wife Marion (Grauvette), son Gord (Cathy), brothers Russell and Gerald, and sisters Edith, Velma and Violet. Survived by daughters Linda Lobb (Brian), Diane Myers (Serge) and Donna Hamilton (David), grandchildren Gordon, Karen, Brian, Kerri-Lee, Chris and Heather and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn his brother Harold and sister Marion Fisher. Born in Tomiko, Ontario in 1922, Gord served overseas as an Air Force Firefighter during the war and made the Air Force his career. Posted to numerous bases across Canada and Europe, the Chief retired in North Bay in 1974. An avid athlete and outdoorsman, Gord was quite proud of his garden and various martial arts achievements. Gord moved to Ottawa in 1999, spending his last 4 years with the wonderful staff at The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre. An extra special thanks to Janie for her loving care.
