(1924 2008) - The family announces with sorrow his death in Sturgeon Falls, Monday September 8th, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Son of the late Edmond and of the late Célanise (née Valade) Shank. Loving husband of Lucille (née St-Jean) Shank of Sturgeon Falls. Dear father of Diane Shank (late Dr. Gabriel Farah) of Montreal, Claude Shank, Réjean Shank (Mary) and Robert Shank all of Sturgeon Falls, Lynne Zeraldo (Ron) of Mississauga and Ginette Shank (John Fox) of Falls Church, Virginia. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his 13 grandchildren, Arianne of China, Alexia and Justine, both of Montreal, Derek of Waterloo, Alexander, Alanna and Michael all of Sturgeon Falls, Adalia of British Columbia, Zachary and Mackenzie, both of Mississauga, Emily of Cleveland, Amanda of Washington, D.C. and Alexandra of California, as well as by his two great- grandchildren Lia and Luc Larente, both of Sturgeon Falls. Dear brother of Irène Brulé (late Alfred) of Sturgeon Falls and Alma Turenne (late Roger) of Welland. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Edmond, Mathilda Laurin (late Arsene), Nelson (late Cécile), Delphine Renaud (late Cléophas), Agnes Legault (late Théophile), Oscar (late Annette), Edouard (late Irène), Clara Gervais (late Arthur), Ernest, Marcel (late Hedwidge), Florence Fournier (late Henri) and Doris (Simone of Ottawa). Also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law from the St-Jean family. He will be sadly missed by his faithful canine friend Vanna/Skylar.The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Guy Labelle, the nursing staff at the West Nipissing General Hospital, Dr. Saunders at the North Bay General, Sonya Solman of Nephrology Department, North Bay General Hospital, Peggy Davis from D.V.A., Jann Rainville from C.C.A.C., the staff at Red Cross and West Nipissing Taxi for going beyond the call of duty. The Shank family will receive family and friends at THEORET BOURGEOIS FUNERAL HOME, Sturgeon Falls, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be held Friday, September 12th, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Sacré- Coeur Church, Sturgeon Falls.
