It is with great sadness that the family of Francis Seamont announces his peaceful passing on October 24, 2023, at the North Bay Regional Health Center at the age of 82.
Francis was the beloved husband of Lise (née Fortin) for an incredible 57 years. He will fondly be remembered for his love for his family, his concern for others and his passion for First Nation rights.
He will be lovingly remembered as the father of Luc (Sherri) and Patrick (Maryse). He was affectionately known to his family as “Gramps”. He truly enjoyed his role as Gramps to Melissa (Chris), Allie (Matt) and Vanessa (Cody) and as a great grandfather to Bennett and Georgia.
Francis enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing on Lake Kipawa where he grew up. With his fishing rod in hand, he would reminisce about the good old days and would love recounting stories about his life spent on Lake Kipawa.
He also enjoyed gardening and no matter where he lived, he would have a garden to care for. He would enjoy planting his favorite vegetables and would share his harvest with family and friends.
He will be laid to rest at the All-Saints Mausoleum on Friday, November 10, 2023, located at 128 Golf Club Road, in North Bay. Respecting his wishes, cremation has taken place, and the family will accept visitation at the Mausoleum from 1:00pm. until 2:00pm. No funeral will be held.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all who have supported us during these difficult times. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
