SCOTT, Douglas William

Peacefully at Eastholme, Home for the Aged, Powassan, on Monday March 13th, 2006, at the age of 90 years. Douglas William Scott was the beloved husband of Eileen (nee Fricker). Doug and Eileen celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on March 3rd, 2006. Proud and loving father of Ray (Marie) of British Columbia, Terril (Rene) of Aylmer, Quebec, Brenda Scott of North Bay and Laurie Ann Cooley (Derek) of Guelph. Doug will be lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank and Tom and sisters Peggy Stewart, Jean Lee, Mayme Zufelt, and Beatrice Speare.

A veteran of WWII Doug served overseas for nearly five years before returning home to North Bay. He loved the out of doors and was most comfortable working in the bush. He chopped many cords of wood in his day, and enjoyed countless hours working around the cottage.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place.



A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at The Harbour, 30 Lees Road, on Thursday March 16th at 11:00 am. Spring interment of his ashes will take place in Terrace Lawn Cemetery.

If desired donations to the North Bay General Hospital Foundation Building Fund, or the Heart & Stroke Fund will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to MARTYN FUNERAL HOME, (across from city hall).
