Passed away on Thursday May 25th, 2023 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 90 after a long courageous battle.
Ed was beloved husband of his first wife, the late Marilynn (McKee) of North Bay and of his present wife Gail (Condie-Perrin) of North Bay, Loving father of Scott (Laurence) of Madrid, Spain, Kevin (Jennifer) of North Bay, and Curtis (Julia) of North Bay. Dear brother of Joanne Hughes (Jack) of North Bay, and her son Wade (Rhonda).
Ed will be lovingly remembered by his grand-daughters Lana and Paytyn, as well as his Brother and sister in-law Dave and Irene McKee. Ed was predeceased by his son Jeff and his parents Ed and Bernice Roche. Ed was born and raised in North Bay and worked 37 years with Ontario North Land Railway. Ed grew up playing hockey and baseball and in later years took up golf and curling. Ed enjoyed many family trips travelling all over the globe. Ed spent many hours giving back to the community which he loved by volunteering with Meals on Wheels, the Heritage Railway and Canadian Cancer Society and was a proud member of the Shriners.
Respecting Ed’s wishers there will be a cremation with his ashes interred in the family plot at Terrace Lawn Cemetery. A celebration of life for Ed will be held on Friday, July 28th , 2023 at the North Bay Golf and Country Club from 5 pm until 8 pm.
