It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert Ferguson announces his passing at Mattawa General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 71 years of age. He will be sorely missed by his wife, Judith (nee Pitt), his two children; George Ferguson (Suzanne) of Mississauga, William Ferguson (Roxanne) of North Bay and his grandson Hunter. Robert was predeceased by his mother Annie, father Richard and his brother Murray. Robert loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and trekking through the bush. He worked as a guide for many years introducing many to the natural wonders of Northern Ontario. Robert was an active member of the North Bay/Mattawa Algonquin First Nation. As Robert requested there will be a private family viewing. A memorial service for friends and family will take place in Mattawa in the spring. Donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
