Bernice Rick died peacefully at Lady Isabelle Nursing Home, Trout Creek, on Saturday, July 27, 2013. She was in her 96thth year. Bernice (nee Laduco) was predeceased by her first husband Fred Busch, her second husband Jacob Phillip “Jake” Rick and her daughter Margaret Harkiss. She was the beloved mother of Gertie Reichstein (the late Mervin), Helen Hummel (the late Vernon), Francis Rick (Mary), Regina Conrad (Howard), all of Trout Creek, and son-in-law Jack Harkiss of Brampton. Grandma will be lovingly remembered by 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Bernice was predeceased by her sisters Josephine and Sadie Mechefske and Stella McKinley. The Rick family will receive visitors at Sacred Heart Church, Trout Creek on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with vigil prayers at 8:45 pm. The Funeral Mass will be take place in the church on Wednesday at 11 am. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Trout Creek.
