Peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the North Bay General Hospital. Effie was born in Greenspond, Newfoundland to the late Ellen and John Burgess. Predeceased by her husband Bill (2008) and their son John (1974). Loved mother of Patti-Ellen (Tom Beverley) and Ken (Carol). She was the precious “Gammie“ of Jill and Joe Beverley and Neil and Greg Richardson all of North Bay. Also survived by her sister-in-law Jean Moyer (Don) of Edmonton, Alberta and their four daughters. Effie will always be remembered for love and devotion to her family and her proud heritage of being a “Newfie“. Cremation has taken place. Private family service was held on Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Interment of ashes in the spring at Terrace Lawn Cemetery. Thank you to all nurses 3W Scollard Site, Dr. Brian Shaw, Dr. Young and Sherri McArthur at the Northeastern Ontario Cancer Center, Sudbury, VON and all support care workers at CCAC.
