Peacefully at North Bay General Hospital on Wednesday March 26, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Ellen was the beloved wife of the late Raymond “Bud“ Ransom, who predeceased her in 1984. The proud and loving mother of Ray of Sturgeon Falls, Ann Jacobs (Murray) of Brights Grove, Shelia Marier of Sturgeon Falls, Ron (Mary), Donna Blais (Dave), Debbie Seguin (Peter) and Randy (Debbie) all of Corbeil, Russell (Penny) of Mattawa and Pat Blais (Dan) of Astorville. Ellen was also predeceased by two infant children, Angela and Richard, her son Robbie and Sheila's daughter Laura Major. She will be lovingly remembered by her 25 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Born in England Ellen was a war bride, marrying Raymond in 1944. She emigrated to Canada in 1946 arriving in Halifax on the Queen Mary with two of her children and settled in North Bay. Ellen was a dedicated wife and mother with her life revolving around her children and grandchildren. She was gifted with a wonderful sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh. Her family are especially grateful and offer their sincerest thanks to Dr. Mike Leckie & Dr. Anna for the outstanding and incredible care given to Ellen. They always went above and beyond to ensure that she was well and compassionately cared for. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
