RANNEY, Rita Marie (nee Joron)

Passed away on February 11th, 2007 at her home on the south shore of Lake Nipissing at the age of 67. She was the loved and cherished wife of Arthur of Callander for 49 years. Rita mourned the loss of her dear son, Rick; her father Paul Joron; and her brother, Arthur, and dear mother-in-law, Valeda Ranney. She was the loving mother of Stephen (Debra Proulx), of Kemptville, Kathie Mendez (Rod) of Washago, John (Kelly Clement) of Maple. Rita's pride and joy were her darling grandchildren; Jon and Mike Ranney, Cole Mendez, Alysha & Makenna Ranney. Rita is survived by her wonderful mother, Blanche Joron; loving sisters and best friends, Irene West (Don), Theresa Chapell (Al), Cecile Hammell (Keith), Pauline MacDonald (Linus), Judy Clement (Butch), and her dear brothers and their wives; Henri (Hab) Joron, (Anita), Hector Joron (Lois), Ron Joron (Judy), her dear brother-in-law Richard Ranney (Fay). She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.



Rita worked side by side in the hair business in Toronto for 20 years with her husband and came home to Callander to retire in 1997, where they took up residence on the South Shore of Lake Nipissing. Rita was loved and supported by her many, many friends and neighbours. Rita loved gardening and was the 2006 President of the Callander Horticultural Society.



The family will receive visitors at Lakeshore Missionary Church, 656 Lakeshore Drive, North Bay on Wednesday, February 14th from 10:30-11:30 am. A Celebration of her life and a luncheon will follow at 11:30 am. At Rita's request there will be a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, Rita has requested donations to the Callander South Shore Missionary Evangelical Church Building Fund.
