Died peacefully with his family at his side at the Algonquin Nursing Home in Mattawa on Monday, April 26, 2004, at the age of 87 years. Dear husband of Isabelle (Guilbeault), father of Louise, Pierre (Rosemary), and Paul (Mary Lou). Beloved grandfather to Kareena, Matthew, Nathan, Tracy, Allan, Brandon and Ryan. Dearly loved by great grandchildren Sarah, Cody, and Wade. Also survived by his sister Marie Godfrey of Calgary, sisters-in-law Mary Rainville and Juanita Rainville as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Marie Rainville, brothers Vincent and Fred, and sisters Helen and Reverend Sister Mary Vincent. Phil was a veteran of World War II, Air Force Squadron 432 and spent many years as a successful hardware retailer. Phil was very community-minded and worked diligently as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Associated Canadian Travellers, and the C.N.I.B. Friends and relatives may call at the T.L. Smith Funeral Home, Mattawa, on Wednesday April 28th, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne's Church, Mattawa, on Thursday April 29th, 2004 at 11 a.m. Spring interment in the family plot of the Parish Cemetery. Donations to the Mattawa General Hospital Building Fund or the charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledges as expressions of sympathy.
