Powell, Marcia
April 14, 1942 - November 18, 2023.

It is with deep sadness that we share that Marcia Powell passed away suddenly but peacefully at home on November 18 from heart failure.

Predeceased by her parents, Ellean and Cecil, brothers, Sam and Ken, and brother-in-law Bruce.

Survived by family members: The Barbers - Paula, Rob (Ann),  Brad (Anna), and Breanna; Mat (Jill), Kate, and Julia. The Powells - Melissa, Adon, and Jayda; Rusty; Gail, Jesse, Katy (Aaron), and Lincoln.   The Balkwills – Elizabeth, Nathanial, and Ivana. The Jankes - Ken (Kim), Paige (Trev), Emma, and Grant (Eliza); Laura; Julie (Charlie), Lilly and Charlie.  Marcia will be remembered by many cousins across Canada.  And she was so proud of the generation of great-great babies recently born.

Marcia was kind and generous and cared about many:  Joe, Matthew, James, and Lilly Ann; Vassy, Zoe, and Tina; and Brittany. Dear friends supported her through good times and more challenging ones, and she was grateful for the friendship of Ed, Bonnie, Barb, and Dianne. Despite mobility issues in recent years, she was able to stay connected with a large circle of friends and family through social media who will miss her comments on their lives.

Marcia was blessed with a sharp mind and a quick wit until the end.  She thrived on her relationships with family and friends who will remember her fondly for her sense of humour, her generosity, her love of animals, her meticulous sewing, knitting, handicrafts, and the handmade Halloween costumes she gifted to many. She never missed an occasion to celebrate birthdays and holidays with family and friends in person or through cards and phone calls for those that were farther away.  She was an avid reader, getting much pleasure from a good book and a cup of coffee.  She will be sadly missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.

At Marcia’s request, there will be no funeral or visitation. Condolences can be sent to The Martyn Funeral Home at www.martynfh.com.
