Poulin, Marc Jean (1975-2018)

“Your demons are gone, you're free and at peace”

The family of Marc Poulin sadly announce his sudden passing on March 20th 2018.

Husband (separated) of Shelley Foster, and Hero & father of Kyle, Pacey and Hannah of North Bay. Immensely loved son of Ronald Poulin of Azilda and Rachelle Desloges-Lacroix (Leo) of Brockville. Son-in-law of Brad and Denise Foster of Corbeil. Brother of Dan Boyd (Chantal) of North Bay and Kim Beaudry (Peter) of New Liskeard. Marc will be missed by his Aunts Joanne, Pauline, Ginette and Uncle John and Gerry all of Sudbury, Monique (Ken) of Peterborough, Claude of Ivy Lea, and Michael (Debbie) of Port Stantley. Dear uncle of Tyler, Riley, Benjamin, Tanner, Katie Josie and Gracie.

Marc joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1999 and served three tours in Afghanistan. He put his uniform and boots on every morning with such pride. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, snowmobiling, mudding and his bonfires. Marc’s children were his world and he was so very proud of them. Marc had a contagious laugh and smile. He was a joker with a comedic sense of humour. Never a dull moment when Marc was around. He was trying to find peace and happiness, but unfortunately the demons from many traumatic events overseas took over and we slowly lost him. He is at peace now.

Marc would want us to use his passing to inspire awareness and to help veterans who suffer from PTSD to get the help they need . He would want us to advocate for PTSD and the lack of support for our soldiers. Donations to "Wounded Warriors" in his honour would be appreciated. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life on Sunday, April 8th at the North Bay Elks Club from 1:00pm-5:00pm.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to MARTYN FUNERAL HOME.
