PICARD, Betty (Elizabeth Carmel, née GRIMES)

At North Bay, on Dec. 5, 2005, after a lengthy battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder. She was 75. A long-time, dedicated volunteer with West Ferris Ladies Recreation and the West Ferris Minor Hockey Association, Betty will be fondly remembered by many friends. She will also be deeply missed by her family: her children Marc (and Gillian) of North Bay, André (and Michelle) of Montréal, and Lise Brodeur of Morrisburg, Ontario; her grandchildren Paul, Carolyne, Julie, Anaïs and Raphaëlle; and her siblings Marguerite, Eleanor, Elaine, Maureen, Bob and Greg. She was predeceased by her husband Guy and her parents, Rose and James. As per her wishes, there will be no funeral, just a brief memorial service Wednesday, December 7 at 11:30 a.m. at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES. A special thanks to the nurses and doctors on the Seniors' Mental Health Unit. No flowers please. Donations in Betty's honour to a charity of your choice would be welcome.
