PERRON, Alcide (1925-2004)

Passed away peacefully at North Bay General Hospital Scollard Site, on September 21, 2004 in his 80th year, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family and many caring nurses. He was married to his beloved wife Nora Rocheleau. Loving father of Romeo (Denyse Martel) and Guy, and loving Pépére Cid of Julie LeBoeuf (Michel), Patrick of North Bay, Stéphane (Macrina) and Daniel (Jacynthe) of Corbeil. He will sadly be missed by his three treasured great-granddaughters: Alexandra and Gabrielle LeBoeuf and Josée Perron. He considered them as his best medicine. Predeceased by his first wife of 51 years, Roselia Ouellette, his parents, Henri Perron and Emma Guillemette, his brothers Camille (Angèle) and Hector (Germaine) and his sister, Lucienne Cantin (Théophile, deceased). Dear brother of Henriette Rochefort (Wilfrid, deceased), Adrien (Rollande), Lina (Léandre), Aurel (Georgette), Rhéal (Armande, deceased), Arnel (Cécile) and Reverend Ronald, s.j. He was also a member of the Golden Age Club and Camp-des-Pins. A carpenter, farmer, violin-maker, and jack-of-all-trades, Alcide also enjoyed playing the fiddles he built from trees that grew on his land. He leaves to his family and friends, a legacy of music and love. Visitation at the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted at St. Thomas d'Aquin Parish in Astorville, Friday at 10:30 a.m. Interment Astorville Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cancer Society, or Mass offerings would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
