Passed away the North Bay General Hospital – McLaren Site, on Saturday, June 14, 2008. Florence Olsen, was the beloved wife of the late Arthur J.
Norman, she was 93 years old. Loving mother of David Norman (wife Mary Jane) of North Bay, George Norman (wife Margaret) of Thunder Bay, Donald Norman (wife Amber) of Barrie, Joan Willis (husband Barrie) of North Bay, Marjorie Hurtubise (husband Gilles) of Kingston, Doris Canthal (husband Gunter) of Comox, B.C. and Diane Buck (husband Brian) of Rochon Sands, Alberta. She will be lovingly remembered by her 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Dearly loved sister of Mary Heska and Gertie Docking of Thunder Bay . She was predeceased by her parents Lars and Clara Olsen and by her siblings Bea Coulson and Alf Olsen. Florence taught for a great many years, first in rural one room school house, then at E.T. Carmichael School where “Mrs. Norman” taught Grade 1. She was a proud member of the Retired Teachers Association. Florence had attended and shared her voice with others as a member of the Choir at the Omond Memorial United Church, and was a Life Member of the U.C.W. Memorial Visitation will be held at the Omond Memorial United Church on Saturday, June 21st from 9:00 am until time for a Memorial Service in the Sanctuary at 11:00 am. Interment of ashes will follow in the family plot at the Terrace Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, donations to the Omond Memorial United Church Memorial Fund or to a Charity of Choice will be gratefully acknowledged as an expression of sympathy.
