Nickmann, Nolleen

There is no one in the world like your Mom……

With deepest sadness we announce the passing of Nolleen Sharon Mary Nickmann (nee Marion) beloved wife of 64 years to Helmuth Gustav Nickmann, loving and caring Mom of Sharon, Kurt and Julianne; cherished Grandma of Matthew, Candace, Benjamin and Mercedes; Great Grandma of Brayden, Audrina, Carter, Daphne, Nova and Addison. She will be forever missed by all of her family near and far.

Nolleen was born July 23, 1934 in Rouyn Noranda, Quebec she was the last child born out of nine children from Alphonse Marion and Adelle Dobratz of Rouyn Noranda, Quebec. Nolleen’s desire to be a wife and mother allowed her to be a natural caregiver. During her years as a daycare provider she influenced many young children by being a positive and loving role model. She was also an animal lover with a special fondness for dogs. Her fur babies were her children. Mom was a graceful ballroom dancer. It was always a pleasure to watch mom and dad clear the dance floor as the guests watch this graceful couple.  She was a vision of loveliness in the arms of her love while floating to a Vienna Waltz.

We would like to express our gratitude to the nurses who cared for her during her stay at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. They demonstrated great care, compassion and grace during such a difficult time for our family. Thank You.

If desired; donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The Broken Chain

We didn’t know that morning that God was going to call your name

In life we loved your dearly, in death we do the same

It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone

For part of us went with you, the day God called you home

You left us precious memories, your love is still our guide

And though we cannot see you, you are always by our side

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same

But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again!
