“Heaven gained the most heavenly Angel today.”

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Valerie Ann on February 26th at 2:10 PM.

Valerie is survived by her husband Rayman “Rick” Nicholson, her daughter Stacey Ann Nicholson (Kevin Gibson), the pride of her life, her grandson Joziah Gibson, her son Drew Nicholson (Sarah Cooper), and her sister-in-law Eunice Stewart.

Valerie is also survived by her sisters Diane Lynch (Brian), Debra Baker, and Christine Lynch (Carl), as well as her brother Paul Baker and her Uncle Philip Brunt of Nova Scotia.

Valerie was predeceased by her parents Albert and Audrey Baker (Brunt). She also leaves behind her extended family, the Cuttings.

Valerie was born and raised in Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia. She moved to North Bay in later years where she met and married Rayman “Rick” Nicholson on April 5th, 1975.

Valerie was loved by everyone she met and always left an everlasting impression. Especially with those of whom she formed a close friendship with at the Wendian Place Apartments in North Bay. She had a distinguished laugh, and everyone could tell when she was present.

Church was very much a part of Valerie’s life. She attended St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Callander where she was a member of numerous groups in her earlier years.

As per Valerie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A special thank you to Dr. Tuomi, the nurses, the PSW’s, and Beth of the Chaplaincy in the Critical Care Unit of the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Arrangements entrusted to Basic Cremation Services. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Callander, or a charity of your choosing.
