A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Anglican Church, 890 Vimy Street in North Bay on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 2 o'clock for Helen Nichols who passed away suddenly and peacefully at her winter home in Ellenton, Florida on March 31, 2008, with her husband Stanley W. Nichols at her side. Helen was predeceased by her first husband George Richard Howard in March 2003. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Sherry (Paul Mooney) and Jane Howard; her grandsons Matthew and Joel Wood and their father Don. Dearly loved sister of Ray Thomson (Pat) of Sudbury, Isabelle Kemp (Neville) of Kingston, Robert Thomson (Nonie) of Kitchener and Betty Woods (Ross) of Toronto. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Turnbull (George). Helen was a graduate of the St. Joseph's School of Nursing. She worked for many years as the Student Health Nurse, first at the St. Joseph's School of Nursing and then at Canadore College in North Bay. Helen was a founding member of the YMCA in North Bay and served as their first female President in 1962-63. In lieu of flowers, donations to YMCA North Bay would be appreciated.
