Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday, February 18, 2021, she was in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late James S. Mutchmor. Cherished mother of Jim Mutchmor (Sandy), Andrew Mutchmor (Karen), and Peggy Bluth (Kurt). Loving grandmother of Jessica, Ryan, Graham, Patrick, David and Jayme and great grandmother of Harper. Respecting her wishes cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Crematorium and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If desired, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre or a charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
Barbara was born in 1930 to Frank and Lois Davey, and grew up in the town of Vankleek Hill, Ontario. She spent her childhood summers at her grandmother’s cottage on Trout Lake (North Bay) which she loved dearly. She attended Branksome Hall girls school in Toronto for her Grade 12 year and then went on to get her nursing diploma at Toronto General Hospital.
Barb enjoyed travelling and after graduating she took the opportunity to spend a year nursing in Bermuda, after which she went on to work in London and travelled throughout Europe. Upon returning home Barbara landed a job with Alcan Aluminum in Montreal as a company nurse and it was there that she met the love of her life and future husband, Jim Mutchmor. They raised three children together in Montreal with summers spent near Perth Ontario, and enjoyed twenty happy years of retirement in Seeley’s Bay Ontario.
Barb loved going for long walks, spending time with her family, reading mystery novels, and of course a good cup of tea! She was a sweet and gracious lady who was always kind and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
