MURPHY, Joseph Patrick

Joe passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at his home on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 in his 91st year. Loving husband of 67 years to Bernadette (née Brunette) and dearly loved father of Betty Murphy (Bill Kennedy), Patrick Murphy (Sherry), Margaret Bell (Bob), Carol Russett (Monte), Monica Duncan (Mark Holmes) and Mike Murphy (Joanne). He will be lovingly remembered by 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Clarence Murphy and Alice Mathieu. He was predeceased by a daughter , Pauly Poison, his parents, Sarah Raymond and William Murphy, sisters, Mary and Kathleen. Joe was a World War II Air Force Veteran and faithful member of the Knights of Columbus council 1007 for 52 years and served as past Grand Knight and District Deputy; he was an employee of Ontario Northland Railway for 26 years and Nipissing District Roman Catholic School Board for 36 years.



Family and friends may pay their respects at McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass to be celebrated by Monsignor David Tramontini at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption, Saturday, May 6, at 10am. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Donations to Breast Cancer Research would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
