It is with profound sadness the family announce the death of Barbara (Barb) Ann Moore of North Bay, Ontario after a brief illness at the North Bay Regional Health Center on December 25th, 2023 at the age of 88.
Barb was born in North Bay, Ontario and attended the North Bay Collegiate and Vocational Institute and was a graduate of Canadore College. She had an insatiable thirst for literature and history combining these passions to become a Genealogist at heart. She dedicated countless hours to the Ontario Genealogical Society, Nipissing District Branch as a volunteer devoting 31 years of her heart and soul towards researching the roots of countless families and community members. Her hard work and immense knowledge will be greatly missed by the local genealogy group.
Barb was the proud mother of Gregory Bale (Lisa), Diane Bale, Erin Bale and Lisa MacDuff Bale (Stephen). Predeceased by father Sheldon and mother Muriel (nee Glover) Moore along with brothers James and Peter, Barb will also be remembered by brothers Jack (Rossanne), Edward, Sheldon (Ann) and William (Liz). Barb was also the proud grandmother of her six grandchildren Marissa, Jordan, Cassidy, Kieran, William John (B.J.) and Rayna.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the North Bay Regional Health Center who provided such comfort and care in her final days. Per her wishes there will be no funeral or visitation, rather she will be cremated and buried alongside her beloved Grandfather John Henry Gilbert Glover at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery, North Bay.
