Ronald passed away suddenly on February 3, 2023 surrounded by his loving family

Loving husband to Louise (nee Murphy), father to Lisa (late David Clapperton) Tammy, Angie (Mike Piche) and Jamie.

Grandfather to Shelbie, Justin, Sheldon, Jennifer, Tyson, Abigail and Johanna

Ron was predeceased by his parents Armand and Agnes and brother Edgar and son in law David.

Ron lived a quiet life and primarily worked in the bush logging, building roads.  He bought his first John Deere skidder at 19 years old.  He loved the bush and the comradery of the men who worked for him.  Many drove trucks from as far as Quebec to up north hauling wood.  He sub-jobbed for Ed Wuncsh, Canada Veneers, Police Communications towers.

Ron loved sports and was a "smooth" hockey player and according to the boys on the ice, he had a good reach and a deadly wrist shot. He coached hockey and played baseball with his family in many tournaments and coached the woman's baseball team as well.  Fishing was a favourite past time in the summer for both Ron and his wife.

He was also a councillor and a Reeve in Mattawan Township many terms.  He loved walking or driving around in the bush where he would see God's wondrous works always.

We are blessed to be born in Mattawa.  Residents are wonderful here and beauty is everywhere. God Bless all!

A Celebration of Life will be held March 25, 2023 at the Mountainview Restaurant. 1-4 p.m.

Thank you to the staff of the Mattawa Hospital for the care given to my husband and also for looking after us in our time of grief - Louise Montreuil.
