MIKAWA, Nagashi

Surrounded by his loving wife and children, Nagashi died at North Bay Regional Health Centre, on June 16th, 2011, following a short illness. He was born November 25, 1929 in Taipei, Taiwan and lived most of his life in Japan where, as a devout Baptist, he was a tireless volunteer in his church. He met and married his wife Glenda in Japan and later moved to Canada where he embraced his new life with wonder and excitement. He enjoyed each new adventure in his new home. He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his wife Glenda of North Bay, his son Eiichi Mikawa (Kyoko) of Japan, Lori Burns (John McNutt), Kim Rivet (Andre Rivet) all of North Bay, Tara Burns (Mark Brown) of Singapore, his mother-in-law Dorothy Hogan of North Bay, his grandchildren Kosei Mikawa of Japan, Julia Rivet of North Bay and Ben and Jake Burns-Brown of Sinapore and his siblings Shigeru, Ko and Setsuko Mikawa of Japan. The family will be holding a Private family service in July. If desired, donations to the North Bay and District Hospital Foundation – MRI Fund.
