McGOWAN, Joseph (Scotty)

Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, January 11th, 2008 at the age of 74 years. Beloved husband of 24 years to Barbara Ranger. Survived by in-laws Terry and Eva Ranger, Brenda and Al Yorke, Roger and Ilene Ranger, Rick Ranger (Shannon), Larry Ranger (Gloria Wallace), Barry and Colleen Ranger, and Harvey Ranger. Dear uncle to Adam, Joseph, Daniel and Amanda Ranger, Christopher and Crystal Yorke, Vernon and Danielle Foren. He will be sadly missed by cherished pets Pépé and Wiz. Scotty worked at Cassellholme for 21 years. He loved fishing, camping, darts, helping people and making them laugh. He was a proud member of the Callander Legion #445 Pipe Band. He was also a Korean War Veteran having served for the British Armed Forces. He celebrated 38 years of sobriety on January 4, 2008.



Family will be receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd. (474-7655) on Sunday, January 13th from 1 until 3 pm and 6 until 8pm with service to follow at 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Kidney foundation will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
