At North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site on Thursday, March 11, 2004 surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of 50 years to Catherine (Kay) McKenzie. Dear father of Verna (Dolly) (Clem Turcotte), Kerry (Ronda), both of North Bay, Nancy (Les Nagy), Darlene (Randy Vesterfelt), both of Oshawa and Richard of Cheyenne, Wyoming. He will be fondly remembered by his 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Rena Wilson of North Bay, Rudy (Barb) of Sault Ste. Marie, Theresa Paquette of Sudbury, his parents Alice and Joseph Martel, brothers Rolly, Louis, Joseph, Maurice, Gerald, two sisters Marie Meloche and Bertha Dufresne. Paul as a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23. He served his country overseas during World War II. After the war, he worked for the CFB North Bay for many years as a professional painter. Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd., on Saturday, March 13, from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Memorial service at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Alzheimer Society, in memory of Paul, will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
