Formerly of Virginiatown. Peacefully at Leisureworld Care Giving Center on Friday, March 4, 2011. Jean (nee Stinson), beloved wife of David Sutherland Mann, in her 92nd
year. Loving mother of David (wife Joan) of Wolseley, Sask, Dr. Renwick Mann (wife Gail) of Peterborough, and Douglas Mann of Kingston. Predeceased by her daughter Katharine Elizabeth Splinter and siblings Edna Harris, Rea Stinson, and Florence Stinson. Proud grandmother of Leah Mann, Lorin Mann, Andrea Hamilton, Iain Mann, Laurie Day, Elizabeth Bourque, David Splinter, Ted Splinter and great grandmother of Jack Day, Sofia Day and Sam Bourque. She will be sadly missed by her son-in-law Hans Splinter
of Kingston. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews of the Mann and Stinson families. Jean and David were married in North Bay after War was declared, on October 28th, 1939, and then David left to serve
overseas. After the War they moved to Virginiatown, where they raised their four children. They were very active in the community, operating the Mann Brothers Service Station, as members of the Virginiatown United Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #384. They moved to North Bay in 1986. Jean's family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home on Friday, March 11th, from 12noon, until time for a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. Spring Interment at Strong Cemetery, Sundridge.
