MacDonald, David Roland

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, July 9, 2010 at North Bay General Hospital McLaren Site, he was in his 68th year. Beloved husband of Mae MacDonald (nee Thorsen) of North Bay. Cherished father of Scott MacDonald (Julie) of North Bay and Seana van der Valk (Jason) of Sooke, B.C. Proud grandfather of Amelia van der Valk. David is survived by his siblings Richard (Mary), Rodney (Pam), Dennis (Laurie) and brother-in-law Peter Thorsen (Anne). He was loved by many nieces and nephews. Previous to retirement, David was a teacher at Dr. MacDougall Public School on Brookes Street. During his teaching years he was President of the Men’s Teacher Association. As a member of Trinity United Church here in North Bay, he was chair of Christian Education as well as an Elder. Visitation will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. A Memorial Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 16th at 11:00 am.
