LYNETT, Gerald Thomas “Jerry”

Life long North Bay resident Gerald Thomas “Jerry” Lynett died peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital on Friday October 5, 2007, at the age of 78 years. Jerry was the much loved and devoted husband of Shirley (nee Filiatrault) whom he married on October 30, 1954. The proud and loving father of Alan (Vicki), and Mark (Diane) both of North Bay and Marsha (Paul) Johnston of Powassan. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Thomas, Marlee, Markus, Mathew and Andrew. Dear brother of Elva Cline (Arnold “Arnie”) of North Bay and Margaret Brouse (Al predeceased) of Sturgeon Falls. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Esther Lynett, his brother Arnold and sister Anne Gardner.



A machinist by trade Jerry was a long time employee of Inspiration Mining, later joining the staff of JKS Industries, then retiring in 1989. An avid golfer he was a member of both the Pinewood and Highview clubs. Following his retirement Shirley convinced him to take up curling, which he soon came to enjoy just as much as his golf game. He will be missed by his many friends from the golf and curling communities.



The Lynett family will receive friends at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in the Martyn Funeral chapel on Wednesday October 10th at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow at Forest Lawn Crematorium. If desired donations to the heart & Stroke fund will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
